Air Canada: History and Facts
Roaming the skies since 1936, this Montreal-based airline operates its largest hub in Toronto. The carrier started out as Trans-Canada Airlines and was created by the federal government. Their first passenger flight was in 1937 carrying two passengers in a Model 10 Electra from Vancouver to Seattle--the price was $14.20 round trip! Today, Air Canada's impressive fleet of the most modern Boeing and Airbus planes cover nearly every stop in Canada, so any major destination on the planet is rarely more than two flights away.
