This airline can trace its history all the way back to 1939 where it went by the name All American Aviation Company, and initially operated as an airmail carrier. Ten years later, the named changed to All American Airways when the company switched to being a passenger carrier. Over the years, the airline went through a series of name changes, but it wasn’t until 1996 that the company became officially US Airways.
